The lavender haired songstress (and beauty!) Brooklyn watches her relationship unravel in front of her eyes in a new “edgy and emphatic” music video for her latest track called ‘Cupid’. The vibrant and cinematic visuals, set to an urban London backdrop, depict the distance between Brooklyn and her boyfriend, each going in different directions with their own friends, whilst also seeming to have feelings and thoughts for each other. The 21 year old singer draws from personal emotions for the lyrics which explore the ‘sting of betrayal’ on love relationships. Brooklyn herself is “a self-proclaimed walking contradiction” whose music often explores the “darkest realms of a relationship” and turn around in the next breath and “detail the beauty of discovering love”. Brooklyn showcases harmonious and enchanting vocals on a hybrid production combining R&B, Trap, Hip Hop and Grime influences, which is laden with whirring synths and hypnotic hi-hats. Brooklyn is tipped for big things in 2017, having gained a wealth of support online as her Instagram profile sore to almost 20,000 followers. This discovery of new talent goes beyond the fans to the platforms that have flocked to support her too since she released the audio for ‘Cupid’ via Wonderland Magazine.
