Courtney Bennett releases the first song off her forthcoming highly anticipated mixtape. The track shows Ms Bennett singing and rapping heartfelt lyrics over a springy bouncy RnB delight of a beat made by Slakah The Beatchild. The most endearing thing about Courtney (apart from her beautiful voice of course), is her ability to perform songs with such a down to earth, sweet yet playful, charming personality that the song is relatable to almost any audience. Guys probably won’t admit it, but we’ve all felt this way about somebody in our love lifes before 😉 This is a great song, and demonstrates Ms Bennett’s skills as a writer superbly also. The rap section is a fun breakaway from the pain she sings about within the verses, but the whole song carries a kind of eff cupid vibe. I feel her pain but also admire her quirkiness for delivering a message of heartbreak with an sense of humor. Very nice. Looking forward to the mixtape!
