DELS Performs in a Tunnel Shaft with a String Quartet – You Need To Hear This
Inside an old tunnel shaft at the Brunel Museum, Philips and Noisey present to you UK Urban artist DELS along with vocalist Kerry Leatham and a string quartet, as they perform one of DELS’ latest singles from his recent album release ‘Petals Have Fallen’ on Big Dada, all captured by You Need To Hear This. The track is entitled ‘Pulls’, and features DELS pasting hard-edged lyricism over sharp, classical instruments including violins and cellos, and a hard hitting hip hop beat. The lyricism paints a picture of a gritty background that DELS has experienced in his past, and observing the communities around him nowadays, as he speaks on violence and hatred in the world today, as well as war that is going on from political, to religious to gang warfare. Kerry brings a very soulful voice to the hook, laid back but brilliantly harmonising, and the ups and downs in the segments from the band is fantastic, with highs and lows creating an intense performance, complementing DELS’ stories. Check out this superb performance from DELS and leave us your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below . . .
