Sika Records and Birmingham Grime MC Devilman recently released a new project called ‘The 50 Grand Chain EP’ for free download via bandcamp. The EP features five wicked Grime bangers, including ‘Blazing Da Fire’ which is a dirty drum and bass tune from Devilman spitting outrageous bars over the track, dealing with haters in the most hideous way, and he also delivers an onslaught of profane bars for some of those he detests. Another energetic DnB tune is ‘Higher’ featuring smooth singing on the hook, with the two mc’s on the track expressing the desire to smoke the loudest and get higher, delivering rapid flows and witty lyrics. ‘He Didn’t Make Me Do It’ is a fusion of Dubstep, Grime and Trap, with Devilman sweeping inferior mc’s aside with some insane punchlines as he boasts of his skills. ‘Push It In Deep’ , another dirty production but this time Grime, Devilman spits bars about rough sexual encounters, with the female on the hook demanding for the man to be more rough. Devilman obliges as he delivers some graphic lyrics. Devilman ends the EP with his recent diss towards Skepta, which revived one of the most infamous, intriguing beefs in Grime history. Devilman actually went in with beastly bars, batting down accusations, some of Skepta’s claims and disses playing in to his hand, ribbing in to his rhyme skills, claiming he doesn’t want to clash, and practically calling him clueless to the real 0121 scene. Devilman goes ham with the send over a bass-heavy, energetic Trap instrumental.
