The latest #GimmeGrime upload to the BBC 1Xtra Youtube channel was a Nottingham Special freestyle on DJ Cameo’s UKG Show. The session featured a stellar line-up of some of the best MC’s straight out of Nottz including Bru-C, Youthoracle, and J Dot of NewCamp, plus much more. There was a mixed bag of styles on show, some of the strongest being Bru-C and J Dot, although everyone did their ting, tearing up a wide range of Grime beats, present and classics, from Swifta Beater to Skepta, going in with breath-taking flows and delivery, bringing tongue twisting bars, one liners, drilling in to emcee’s not in their league, the likes of Youthoracle showcasing great lyrical vocabulary, the likes of Gino drawing comparisons to Merky Ace in my opinion. What a massive set, which contained so much upcoming talent and differing styles. Check out the freestyle vid below, take in each and every emcee and let us know who you think killed it . . .
