Nottingham Grime MC Mez links up with JDZmedia for a music video for his new track called ‘Old School’ produced by Beat Geeks, and which is taken from his recently released 28 EP. Mez goes in fully over an up-tempo, skippy Grime instrumental laden with chaotic snares, hats and claps as well as jabbing synths and basslines, and which also possesses a vintage grime vibe. Mez shells the beat with lyrics which pay homage to the old school as he name drops many veteran mc’s and crews, flitting through the landmark years in the scene, and also stressing that he holds the flame for the new wave too, but his one line flows and reload bars are a throwback to the old school. Check out the music video which is filmed in various locations from Mez’ studio as he performs the track and a record shop packed with vinyl’s, as he hypes up to the shop owner, and shamelessly plugs his new EP.
