Kid Bookie – Fast Forward (Prod. Lewis Cullen) (BBC 1Xtra Rip)
Kid Bookie recently had the premiere of his second track taken from his forthcoming mixtape on December 25th. Featured on this radio rip, from DJ Cameo’s UKG show on BBC Radio 1Xtra, is the tune called ‘Fast Forward’, and is the second successive track produced by Lewis Cullen. The track is a is a Grime instrumental, on which Bookz lays down rapid flow on the jabbing, pulsating beat which features lashing percussion, with a Trap vibe to it. The lyricism conveys Kid Bookie’s perceptions of the music scene, and with clever lyrical structure and song writing, he rhymes about not only the state of the game, but his ignorant bliss, the morals and ethics of the scene, rhyming about his constant battle on the path to his dreams, including haters, pushing your music and trying to get it heard by the masses, but Bookie seems wise in stating that he is only in the game now for wisdom. The hook is smooth, and features a female vocalist on it, in a soothing and hoarse voice, whilst Kid Bookie delivers his usual rapid delivery as he keeps up with the up-tempo, energetic beat, spraying his clever lyrics.
