Producer Marco Del Horno and DJ Swerve have linked up for a release called “Riddim Commission Volume One” which features 5 bangers, Grime tracks which features the likes of J2K, Newham Generals, Cas and Merky Ace. “Hype Ting” is exactly that, J2K dropping skippy flows over a jiggy Grime beat, something for the skankers. “Shuffle” is a Garage instrumental with a rhythm of course, whilst “Battle” featuring Mr Hudson and Newham Generals is a slower Grime/Dubstep production which D Double E and Footsie provide heavyweight lyricism with entrancing vicals on the hook from singer Mr Hudson. “Round Here” has Merky Ace tear up the beat with lyrical warfare and fiery flows with L Marshall on the hook adding a bit of swagger to the track which also drops in to a dutty Dubstep segment. The final track, maybe my favourite, “Onnit” features Cas on a funky Trap style beat, Cas dropping killer verses, rhyming about his drug use, going to the extreme until he passes out, flowing effortlessly and terrifically over the hard-hitting bass.
