Released via Fool’s Gold Records and premiered by Complex, Producer Nick Hook teamed up with ATL mystery man 24hrs for his new track ‘Gucci’s’, recorded along with the rest of his newly announced tracklist for the “Relationships”LP, out 1st November 2016, live at his Greenpoint studio ‘thespacepit’ . Following on from his last released featuring Grime emcee Novelist, ‘Gucci’s’ is an bass-booming, , synth-laden, electronic beast of a production fusing elements of Grime, Trap and EDM, along with “alien vocal processing”. What you get is a new-age, spacetronic, bass rattling banger!
The debut album from the Brooklyn Producer will feature a “festival-worthy lineup” of new school emcee’s such as 21 Savage, Novelist and iLoveMakonnen, and plus fellow beatmakers including Prefuse 73, Hudson Mohawke, and the late DJ Rashad. Best described, “‘Relationships’ isn’t just the world’s greatest party guestlist, but also a chronicle of Nick’s year long, after-midnight vision quest—the sound of a producer breaking through the chrysalis, killing the ego, and raising the bar.”
Not only have Complex premiered Nick Hook’s new monster of a single, ‘Gucci’s’, but they sat down with him for an in-depth interview which you can read via the link below. FACT Magazine also visited ‘thespacepit’ for a studio tour, and they put his beatmaking skills to the test in his live ‘Against The Clock’ session. Nick is just now completing his U.S tour, and will head to the UK for his first headline show where he will take over The Pickle Factory on 16th November, alongside some very special guests.
