UK bass/electronic music producer Ozzie releases the audio for his latest EP entitled “Regime” via his label Trap Door’s official soundcloud channel. The first track of the three track ep Lights Out sees Ozzie use pounding kick drums accentuating the bassline in a trap style rhythm featuring worldly instrumentation, mixing subtle ambient melodies with hard edged percussion to create atmospheric yet moody music. Loving the switch between the bangin beats and airy keys. Track two Gangsta features the detuned “Say you a gangsta” vocal sample mixed with a back drop of 80’s pop/soul keys all contrasted by the bass laden trap esque bumpin beats, with brooding bass and gully rhythmic swing. Light and dark seem to be the theme with this ep as Ozzie flips between the mellow and dark styles. Track three Wario’s Castle is another deep, moody banger, featuring intricate strings, sawing bass and cheeky vocal sample used for great rhythmic effect and rising sytnths that build towards the banging drops. Throw in the haunting child choir “la la la’s” and you have a dark banging rap beat that holds no punches. So many layers from this talented producer as Ozzie, sections off his arrangement so it sounds like multiple tracks rolled into one!
