Off of the back of his recent LOTM 5 clash with Realz, Grime MC Proton has released a new EP, the “Product Of Hard Work”. Featuring production from the likes of Mr Carmack, Plastician, Climaks and himself, Proton gives you a free EP well worth downloading. In the best of compliments, I liken Proton to Manga with his delivery especially, he has character in his voice like the Roll Deep member, and he has superb flows, and as showcased on this EP, he can tackle a wide range of beats from Grime to Bass and Trap, and a bag of lyrics, spitting about life and his music, an some highlight his creative song-writing, he also has gret wordplay skills. My stand out tracks are the intro which he goes in on, grabbing your attention from the off. “Lonely Nights” which Proton puts his thoughts and feelings down on the track, expressing the feeling of loneliness, and also produced by himself, Proton adds a beastly bass. “Trapdoor Freestyle Pt.2” features Proton peppering a beat by Mr Carmack with a whole load of punchlines and cheeky bars. “24-7” is also a dutty tune, production by Plastician, a Grime instrumental which includes a deep heavy bass, ferocious at times, and Proton and fellow mc’s KashWallis, Dazer, ellzBS & Argo shell the beat with sick bars, and rapid flows.
