Boy Better Know affiliate Lay Z showcases a rather different, more soulful side to his artistry as he teams up with production collective The Heavytrackerz for this new track called ‘Freak You’, released over the Valentines weekend. Heavytrackerz provide this gritty Rhythm N Grime production which is the foundation for Lay Z, sampling Usher’s ‘Nice and Slow’. Lay Z sings his way through the tune with harmonious vocals that entice a lady friend to get freaky with him. Lay Z, usually caught shelling more up-tempo Grime instrumentals, springs a more soulful sound on us all that is really impressive and astonishing.
