Dinero & Headz teamed up for a track taken from Headz’ own mixtape in the making, “Headz & Tails”. The track, entitled “Billy & Maxwell”, is a story of two guys from different slum, but very much the same, both Dinero and Headz take on each character, Billy and Maxwell respectively, dropping a verse each, the lyrics of which show the reality that they are both very much in the same situation. Billy has got his own gun and wouldn’t hesitate to use it, surrounded by like-minded people, he has thoughts of sinning, bought about by the pain in his life, music fuelling his final actions, ending up in jail, facing life. On the other side, Maxwell grew up without the best of starts, a mother on benefits, unable to pay the tax, hitting the streets, his life is turned in turmoil as he is killed, by the same type of person as Billy. The story is a reality which many may be able to relate, a lot of people in the same situation, nothing to live for, backed in to the road life, one way or another you may lose, whether it is jail or death. Take from the story what you will, but for me, if everybody realises they are in the same boat, to unite and get along, there will be more peace. A powerful story by Dinero and Headz, backed by an equally poignant sampled hook. Check out the track below and leave us your feedback . . .
