Midlands trio Scorpz, Sox and Lil Choppa drop their new video for trap slash grime banger “8 Bar Hype”. The three MC’s go ham over the hypnotic, kick drum heavy, string stabbingly pulsating instrumental (produced by Swifta Beater). Scorpz, Sox and Lil Choppa take it in turns to drop gully 8 bar verses in a back 2 back 2 back roulette style rotation. Each MC spits anthemic “wheel up bar” esque short rhyme, with the footage captured on a rampage throughout the local shopping pavilion, on stage at events and various urban settings around their city, all stunningly and rapidly edited together in a clever seemingly random fashion. The visuals are as skippy, sporadically creative and exciting as the flows and lyrics themselves, with all MC’s dropping punchline after punchline in their turn on the track. Impressive stuff from three of the countries most innovative and interestingly talented artists in UK urban music. Leaders of the Grime scene right here folks!
