One of the greatest things about the golden era of Hip Hop was the sampling by DJ’s and then Producers, or just the soulful reminiscence of hearing a track, and it reminding you of songs from blues to soul of yesteryear, and there is no exception with Welsh Hip Hop producer DJ Alkemy, as he gives out this new release via soundcloud, a funky, boom bap style, soulful production. The beat is percussion heavy, with Alkemy laying down hats and snares, along with a boom bap style beat, with a melody similar to such tunes from the likes of Soul greats Barry White and more. DJ Alkemy cuts the main part of the melody, to the effect of giving it the feel that it is being spun by a DJ scratching, whilst the soulful sample along with the raw, vintage sound of the beat altogether gives the whole production a old skool vibe.
