UK lyricist Ghetts was live at Secret Show recently, and Link Up TV caught up with him there to film a live performance of one of his tracks from his most recent album “Rebel With A Cause”. The song performed is called “These Words” and sees Ghetts along side UK singer Effie for this acoustic version of the tune. The lyrics of the tune deal with Ghetts trying to make a living from his career while still blowing up, but battling with the thought of either selling out and finding that radio friendly single or keeping his own creative control over his music. As you listen to Ghetts’ rhymes in this particular song, you hear him talk about how he has always put his passion in to his music, putting messages in to his lyrics, and talks about the real situations going on outside, the wars and crime that are going on, but it is covered over by the loss of real feelings put in to music nowadays. Ghetts has a strong message in this track for sure, and he drops some wise words that some of you should really take in and take heed of. Effie sings fantastically on the hook, really vocalising, hitting the right octaves from high to low, pouring her heart out and connecting with the song.
