Rap artist Lyrikz teams up with Nottingham’s JR for a brand new music video by Build TV for a track called “Getting By” which is produced by Young Skreemz. The song is about the everyday struggles and trying to get by with all of the tests that life throws at you. JR speaks about friends that grow distant, witnessing their self-destruction, but keeping the faith and looking at what he has, his music and family, and pushing himself to achieve his dreams. JR kills it lyrically and his flow is superb, effortlessly flowing over the melancholy Hip Hop beat. Lyrikz starts off by stating that he is smoking a spliff, prefereably to get high and forget about the trials and tribulations. He tells of fakes and haters, and just like JR, people that were once there but have ghosted for some reason or another. The chorus sees Lyrikz say stating that they don’t need anyone by their side, especially fakes.

This is a powerful track by the pair, and the video includes several shots of them in the studio knuckling down and focusing on their recording career, throwing in a few shots of a church, which is quite symbolic, and could mean to keep the faith, either way, the video is artistically shot and fantastically edited.
