East London Rapper/Producer Pepstar, drops his latest mixtape entitled ‘Dark Days Bright Nights’. Featuring 10 solid Hip Hop tunes, including the lead track “Dark Days” which is a moving story of a man stuck in the struggle, rhyming about the reality that he has to deal with on the daily, such as being broke, trying to make it in the music industry, and feeling like having no family or friends. More uplifting songs include “Oh Yh!”, a Hip Hop production with a Reggae vibe and Dubstep influence, whilst the hook is catchy and infectious. “Ain’t My Girl” is one for the ladies, Pepstar rhymes about messing around with a girl whom is getting to comfortable in the situation, Pep pointing out all of that irks him about her, culminating in stating in the chorus that she isn’t his girl. This particular song features a great RnB vibe on the hook with fab singing. “Shotgun” is another superb song which features Pepstar taking extracts from TLC’s No Scrubs for the hook, as he rhymes about riding shotgun with his dream girl, one that is down to ride no matter. The last track on the mixtape is called “We Made It”, and is an uplifting and motivational yet touching track, the production features a rolling drum beat, along with a motivating melody, as Pepstar rhymes about coming up from the predicament that he and lots of others have, coming from nothing to something, a true underdog story.
