Better known as a Reggae artist, who has worked with some of the most prominent names in the UK Dub scene and abroad, Shelly Ravid has teamed up with Mr. Mulligans, whose production style is heavily rooted in 90’s Hip Hop and R&B, and has worked with a wide range of artists within the UK and abroad.
A hybrid production from Mr. Mulligan, there is an underlying West Coast vibe to the song, owing to the synths used, whilst the beat pattern and percussion is heavily influenced by Electronic and Dance. One of two single independent collaborations to be released by Shelly via No Joke Records, based in New York, US, which she signed to recently, ‘Men Like You’ is a song that explores Shelly Ravid’s perceptions certain men with bad ways, and really is an anthem for the “girl squad and sisterhood”. Shelly Ravid comes in to her own on this track, her vocals and melodies making her sound like a star already, and her song writing skills are terrific too.
