Skrapz – 80’s Baby (FULL MIXTAPE) | Link Up TV Music

Skrapz - 80's Baby

North West London Rap artist Skrapz returns with a brand new mixtape called ’80’s Baby’ via Link Up TV’s official app and their soundcloud. Skrapz takes all of the classic tunes from his time growing up, and lacing them with his own bars in a tribute of sorts. As he states in the opener, Usher’s ‘Think Of You’, the music isn’t the same no more, Skrapz reminisces on music way back, the showbiz from Biggie and Tupac, to spitting hard edged bars about his life. Skrapz goes in on many other classic tunes from Mobb Deep’s ‘Survival Of The Fittest’, once again hard edged lyricism, street raps, whilst Skrapz goes in with the wicked flows on the beat. Skrapz chills out on Notorious B.I.G’s ‘One More Chance’, RnB/Hip Hop beat, rhyming about zoning out, smoking or drinking, and linking girls, whilst also trying to raise his funds. Skrapz holds his own on many tracks from Fugee’s ‘How Many Mics’ to Snoop and Dre’s ‘Deep Cover’, but I was impressed by his cover of Tupac’s ‘Keep Your Head Up’, which Skrapz puts his pain and thoughts in to his lyrics, pondering on whether he has ever been targeted by gun man, reflecting on lost friends, rhyming about his prison time, having harsh feelings towards the law, and spitting about his mission to look after his family. Skrapz flows nicely on the funky, soulful beat, one of my favourites.
