To mark The Doctor’s Orders 250th event we are pulling out all the stops with our biggest line up to date. Averaging thirty-one different parties or concerts a year (not including our weekly events) since launching in 2005, it’s little wonder we’ve been described as “Iconic” (The Metro) and as “The kings of the capital’s Hip-Hop scene” (Time Out). We’re sure this incredible event will solidify our reputation for throwing the best parties in town for another year.

Topping the bill we have Philadelphia’s finest, ‘The Magnificent’ DJ Jazzy Jeff. Widely regarded as the greatest DJ on the planet, he is by far the most popular DJ among our Hip-Hop loving regulars that make The Doctor’s Orders their musical mecca.

Having come to prominence in the 1980’s as the DJ and TV sidekick to Will Smith’s ‘Fresh Prince’, he’s continued to raise the bar for Hip-Hop both through his phenomenal DJ sets and production for the likes of De La Soul, The Roots, Slum Village and Eminem to name a few. A Jazzy Jeff set is that rare balance of technical flair, ingenuity and straight party rocking which stands him apart from the crowd. Having started spinning at the tender age of 10 he now has a DMC Championship and several Grammy nominations to his name but his genuine love of music keeps his feet firmly on the ground.

Also renowned for both their production skills and incredible ability to move a crowd is the UK’s finest tag team, The Nextmen. Brad Baloo & Dom Search have been setting clubs and festival stages alight since their debut in 2000. Rocking a 4 deck blend of anything and everything from Hip-Hop, Disco and House through to Dubstep and Jungle, The Nextmen’s exclusive London residency for The Doctor’s Orders has fast become a thing of legend and tonight they’ll be treating a packed Scala to another furious display of Turntable magic.

Another Philly native and good friend of The Doctor’s Orders is the multi-talented Rich Medina. As comfortable producing R&B for the likes of Gill Scott as he is recording his own House tracks & spoken word verses, it’s behind the decks Rich really comes to life, as shown by his phenomenal performances on ‘Master of the Mix’; 2010’s all star television DJ competition. His diverse musical tastes are always on show in his DJ sets that are as likely to touch on Afro-Beat as they are classic Hip-Hop or Soul.

The roots of any party are it’s residents. With The Doctor’ Orders residents we go deep and have been able to grow over the years. Ask any Hip-Hop DJ in the UK who their favourite DJs are and invariably you will get the reply Jazzy Jeff & Mr Thing so we are blessed to have both on stage tonight. Spin Doctor celebrates this landmark occasion with yet another trademark set of all out bangers while our remaining two residents; Chris P Cuts & Mo Fingaz are joined by our regular host with the most MC Pranksta as they dig through floor fillers old and new to keep the whole venue bumping all night. Also joining us are Classic Material duo Chris Read, of BBE Records & Nickname who will be warming up the second room with a set of back to back party platters.
