In celebration of the legendary Grime Clash series Lord Of The Mics hitting the 10 year milestone, co-founder Jammer has put together a monstrous grime party record, bringing together mc’s from the early grime years, including Bruza, Discarda, Hyper, Royal and Ears alongside current hot artists including Newham Generals, OGz’ Blacks and Jendor, Lethal B, Face and Shorty. As Jammer explains, “With ‘Royal Rumble’ I was trying to capture the essence of what our music was about 10 years ago. With a lot of artists from the underground, they get signed and the music becomes structured. I wanted to ignore formula – who says you have to have a chorus? This is lyrics for the rave and getting influential people alongside those people who’ve been putting the work in lately, bringing it to the fore.” The 13 mc’s go back to back over Pulse X produced by Mystry, a heavyweight beat with a pulsing bassline and up-tempo percussion, delivering 8 bar reloads, bars that are punchy and energetic. This track will be performed live on 23rd September at the Lord Of The Mics 7 Live Clash at O2 Academy in Islington.
